Dust storms swirl through the central part of the U.S. turning areas into the famous Dust Bowl. President Roosevelt establishes the Securities and Exchange Commission. Walking Liberty half dollars are once again minted at all 3 mints, Philadelphia, Denver and San Francisco. Philadelphia produces 6,694,000, Denver mints 2,361,000 and San Francisco creates 3,652,000 of the silver halves.
The economy was finally starting to improve throughout the U.S. and demand for coinage was increasing. Several varieties are known from all 3 mints. The 1934-S in mint state condition is still tough to find. All of the coins are widely available in Good to AU. The is the first date coin of what is considered to be the intermediate sets of Walkers from 1934 through 1940.
