Production of the Walking Liberty half dollar ramped up during 1941. The World was in full turmoil as World War II effected virtually all corners of the globe. The U.S. enters the war late in the year, the first Jeep is produced and Walt Disney's newest character, Dumbo, makes his debut on the silver screen. Philadelphia produced 24,192,000 coins as well as 15,412 proof versions of the silver coin. Denver minted 11,248,400 and San Francisco contributed another 8,098,000 of the silver half dollars.

Many of these coins were saved and thus its fairly common to find well struck gems of these coins. Even in it MS65 the Walker is relatively affordable with the exception of the 1941-S which is harder to find fully struck. Many varieties of the coins are known from all 3 mints.
